Is there an echo in here?
Last night I had a sudden and rather strong pain in my right ear. Completely out of the blue, and there for about an hour or two before I fell asleep. Now this morning I've woke up with an echo. Absolutely everything I hear I hear normally, and then an echo of it (it's actually kinda nice listening to some music, but otherwise it's creeping me the hell out). Worse, I can't make it to the doctor's until the end of the week. Here's hoping it goes away before hearing every word twice drives me insane.

Hmm... Doesn't really sound too good, if you forgive the pun.
Anything that affects how you percieve sound is happening in your brain, not your ear.
