Being the geeky lot you all art (pot, kettle, black. I know), I'm sure most of you guys already know that the Sweedish Pirate Party have won a seat on the European Parliament. Don't know if they've got any idea what they've gotten themselves into, but I'm for this because it demonstrates to the other parties how the voters feel about copyright and privacy issues - 7.1% of the vote - so hopefully they'll cause some change indirectly.
Found out a fun thing reading up on European Parliament though... MEPs have diplomatic immunity from detention and legal procedures, except when caught in the act of an offense. I think we've just found the perfect guy to host The Pirate Bay!
